Eat the Rainbow Challenge!

Dear St. Anthony families,

During the month of March, all students are invited to participate in the “Eat the Rainbow” Challenge.   The purpose of this initiative is to get students thinking about their food choices, as well as take on some responsibility in the lunch making and snack decision process. Each day of the week there is a colour challenge.  Students who bring in a healthy fresh fruit or vegetable of that colour group will earn 2 points, students who have a healthy fresh fruit or vegetable, but does not meet the daily colour challenge, will earn 1 point.  Students have the month of March to collect points.  At the end of the challenge, the whole school will celebrate with a fresh fruit fiesta celebration (details to follow).  In addition, a class from each division with the highest level of engagement will win a prize of their choice. Some prize options include: an extra physical education period, prepare a DPA session for another division or class, a nature walk, another initiative pertaining to health and well being, approved by the teacher.

A Healthy Schools Ambassador will be monitoring and encouraging your child(ren) daily.

Please see the poster below for more details.

Let’s get healthy, St. Anthony!
